Toby - ESA Level 1 violin teacher

Toby has been a passionate violinist for almost all his life, having started as a "Suzuki Kid" under Margaret McNamara aged 5, and finishing in the top 1% of the NSW Higher School Certificate in Music. Toby then continued his violin studies at university in Australia, learning under Carl Flesch competition winner and Academy of St Martin in the Fields leader Ronald Thomas, before pursuing a “temporary” career change for the past 20 years. During these 20 years Toby continued to be extensively involved in, and leader of, a number major community and semi-professional orchestras in Sydney and London. Toby is now pursuing a lifelong aspiration to be a violin teacher. Having also been a club front row rugby player and college rower, Toby strongly believes that a broad multi-curricular interest across both sports and the arts is a vital accompaniment to school studies for any developing child.
